August 16, 2018
Seoul- A task force of South Korea's Foreign Ministry on Thursday called for a youth exchange program with Japan that will involve some 10,000 people annually.
The program was included in the panel's proposals submitted to Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha.
The task force was created in May to mark 20 years since a joint declaration on a new bilateral partnership was issued in 1998 by then Japanese Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi and South Korean President Kim Dae-jung.
The ministry said it will hold talks with the Japanese side on the proposals after discussing them with relevant South Korean government agencies.
According to the ministry, the proposals include 25 projects, such as the designation of 2019-2020 as a period of bilateral exchanges and the joint development of tour routes. Jiji Press
