Seoul- South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Thursday promised support for Japan's efforts to resolve the issue of North Korea's abductions of Japanese citizens.
Moon made the pledge when Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono told him in a meeting at the Blue House presidential office in Seoul that Tokyo aims to resolve the abduction issue through direct dialogue with Pyongyang.
Moon also said South Korea is ready to cooperate on the possible normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and North Korea.
Kono told Moon that Japan intends to continue to work together with the United States and South Korea toward the North's complete denuclearization.
