Senior U.S. Diplomat to Visit Japan, China Next Week

Washington- Susan Thornton, acting U.S. assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific affairs, will travel to Japan and China for three days from Monday, the State Department said Friday.
Thornton will stay in Tokyo Tuesday and Wednesday after a trip to Beijing on Monday.
During the Asian trip, Thornton is expected to meet with officials in Japan and China to discuss regional issues, including a U.S.-North Korean summit scheduled for June 12. Jiji Press
