Strong Quake Hits Central Japan

Tokyo- A strong earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 5.2 jolted Nagano Prefecture, central Japan, Friday night.
The quake measured upper 5 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale of 7 in the Nagano village of Sakae and 4 in the city of Joetsu, Niigata Prefecture, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The focus of the quake, which occurred around 9:13 p.m. (12:13 p.m. GMT), was 6 kilometers deep and located in the northern part of Nagano. Jiji Press
