Tokyo--Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi has sent a message of condolences to the family of Satoshi Oyama, one of the victims of Tuesday's stabbing rampage near Tokyo, a senior Myanmarese official said Friday.
Oyama, a 39-year-old Japanese Foreign Ministry employee and Myanmarese-language expert, was killed in the mass stabbing in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture.
Suu Kyi's move was revealed by Kyaw Tint Swe, union minister for the office of Myanmar's state counsellor, during a meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono in Tokyo.
Kyaw Tint Swe, while noting that Japan and Myanmar are very close and friendly to each other, offered his condolences over the incident. Kono expressed his gratitude. Jiji Press
