Toray, Mitsubishi Materials sack subsidiaries’ heads

Tokyo- Toray Industries Inc. and Mitsubishi Materials Corp. separately said on Friday that the heads of their respective subsidiaries stepped down the same day following the revelation of data falsification scandals.
Toray Hybrid Cord Inc. President Nobuhiro Suzuki, 64, and Mitsubishi Cable Industries Ltd. President Hiroaki Murata, 60, are believed to be sacked by the parent companies.
Suzuki and Murata were replaced by Masahiro Aoki, 56, chief of Toray Industries' first production technology department, and Mitsubishi Materials Executive Officer Nobuhiro Takayanagi, 54, respectively.
Toray Industries' public relations office said Suzuki was held responsible for the misconduct.
Both groups are now investigating the data fraud cases, with support from external experts. Jiji Press
