Toshiba to announce April-June results on Thursday
August 8, 2017
TOKYO- Toshiba Corp. plans to announce its consolidated earnings results for April-June on Thursday, informed sources told Jiji Press on Tuesday.
Toshiba's auditor, PricewaterhouseCoopers Aarata LLC, is likely to approve the results, the sources said.
Toshiba and PwC Aarata are still in dispute over the Japanese company's results for the year ended in March due to differences over when it recognized
losses from its US nuclear unit, Westinghouse Electric Co.
But they have no major differences over Toshiba's financial condition for the year that started in April, the sources said.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange calls on listed companies, including Toshiba, to disclose their earnings results within 45 days of the end of each quarter.
Due to the dispute with the auditor, however, Toshiba has postponed releasing results for October-December last year and the year ended last March.
Toshiba last won auditor approval, from Ernst & Young ShinNihon LLC, the previous auditor, for results for the year ended in March 2016.
On Thursday, the company is slated to submit a mandatory financial statement for the year ended last March to regulators and release its earnings report. Jiji Press
