US to impose antidumping duties on rebar from Japan

June 18, 2017

WASHINGTON- The United States is set to impose antidumping duties on steel concrete reinforcing bar from Japan and Turkey under an International Trade Commission decision announced Friday. The ITC has voted to determine that the U.S. industry is "materially injured" by imports of rebar from the two countries sold at less than fair value in the United States. The case is the second one in which Japanese products are subject to U.S. antidumping duties under the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump launched in January. Antidumping duties of up to 209.46 pct will be imposed on rebar products of Japanese companies including Jonan Steel Corp. and Kyoei Steel Ltd. (Jiji Press)
