May 27, 2018

Hanoi- Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang on Friday called for close cooperation with Japan to address issues related to technical trainees from his country working in Japan.

Better mutual understanding of laws and culture is necessary, Quang told Japanese media organizations ahead of his visit to Japan as a state guest from Tuesday.

He indicated that the two countries should cooperate to resolve the issues of Vietnamese trainees committing crimes and working in harsh conditions in Japan.

Quang noted that the two countries have worked together in the field of regional security to deal with China's maritime expansion in the South China Sea and North Korean issues.

Praising the roles played by Japan, Quang emphasized his intention to continue cooperation with Tokyo.

Quang said the bilateral relations have deepened across the board and entered a new phase of development.

He expressed his wish to strengthen the bilateral ties further through his planned meetings with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and with Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko. Jiji Press
