Wireless LAN to Be Available at All Tokyo Games Venues

Tokyo- The organizing committee for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics said Thursday that it will develop wireless local area networks at all venues for the games.
Takeshi Tachi, head of the committee's technology service division, said the committee basically intends to do so.
The committee was advised by a panel of experts to develop the environment for information and communications technology.
Besides the wireless LAN connection, the advisory panel recommended the committee develop guide services using robots and with multiple languages, make use of artificial intelligence to predict waiting time for restrooms and shops, and employ information technology to make transportation, security and other work to operate the games more efficiently.
