Abe opens Instagram account
December 18, 2017
Tokyo- Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has launched his official account on Instagram, joining many people in the nation, including young women, who are already enjoying the increasingly popular online photo-sharing service.
His first post on the account, opened on Friday, was a photo of his nameplate taken when he appeared in "Waratte Iitomo!," a now-defunct television live variety show, in 2014, along with his comment that "The year 2018, I'm finally starting Instagram."
Soon after the launch, Abe's account has been bombarded with messages, including one saying, "Please raise hourly wages of part-timers," and another calling on the government not to increase the tobacco tax. Jiji Press
