Baby crying contest at Sensoji Temple

Two babies born in 2016 are held face-to-face by amateur sumo wrestlers during Nakizumo, a baby crying contest at Sensoji Temple at Asakusa in downtown Tokyo last Sunday.
One hundred and sixty babies born in 2016 participated in the spring event, praying for babies' health and growth. The baby crying louder and earlier is declared the winner. A sumo referee stands in the center of the ring. (EPA/KIMIMASA MAYAMA- Jiji Press)
