BOJ opens Facebook account

Tokyo- The Bank of Japan has opened a Facebook account in an effort to strengthen its online public relations activities, informed sources told Jiji Press on Thursday.

As a trial run that began late this month, the Facebook page offers information about central bank operations and monetary policy, including speeches by BOJ Governor Haruhiko Kuroda and economic data. Jiji Press
