Japan Govt to Look into Gaming Addiction

Tokyo- The Japanese government will look into gaming addiction, which the World Health Organization has classified as a disorder, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said Wednesday.
The WHO says there is a connection between gaming addiction and people's everyday lives, including sleep and academic performance, Suga told a press conference.
"We will begin by investigating and studying the situation and handle the matter based on the results," he added.
Suga also said that the gaming industry is a growing field and one of the key sectors in the government's Cool Japan strategy. Jiji Press
