Japan New Year ritual

Shiga Pref.- Japanese worshippers wrIte wishes on clay disks at a Shinto shrine on Chikubu island on lake Biwa, Shiga Prefecture, Japan, Monday, 01 January 2018.
The worshippers then throw the disks at a sacred gate.
If the disks land underneath the gate, it is believed the worshippers wish will come true.
