New Pokemon Games on Nintendo Switch to Connect to Pokemon Go
May 31, 2018
Tokyo- Pokemon Co., an affiliate of Nintendo Co., said Wednesday that it will release new games featuring Pokemon Go compatibility for the Nintendo Switch video game console.
The new games--Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee--will hit markets worldwide on Nov. 16 to let players go on adventures using the Nintendo Switch with Pokemon monsters they capture not only in the home video games but with Pokemon Go, the smash-hit smartphone game app. The company hopes to sell the new Pokemon series titles in Japan for 6,458 yen each.
The firm also said that it will release a special controller in the shape of Poke Ball, the item to get Pokemon monsters. Players of the new games can catch those monsters by making throwing motions with the Poke Ball Plus controller, and nurture them with Pikachu or Eevee.
Two people will be able to play the new games at the same time. In addition, the Poke Ball Plus can be used for Pokemon Go.
Shinya Takahashi, managing executive officer of Nintendo, told a press conference in Tokyo that the compatibility between the two new games and Pokemon Go "will allow players to fully enjoy acting as Pokemon trainers." Jiji Press
