PH Consul General to Calgary congratulates Filipino painter featured in Saskatchewan’s Fine Art Fair

CALGARY– Philippine Consul General to Calgary Zaldy Patron conveyed his congratulations to Saskatchewan-based Filipino painter Patrick Fernandez for being featured in the 5th Edition of Art NOW Fine Art Fair 2020 held on 17 to 27 September 2020 across the province of Saskatchewan, Canada.
In a telephone call to the artist on 28 September 2020, Consul General Patron expressed his happiness over the former’s remarkable achievement, and hoped that this feat would inspire other Filipino artists in Canada.
Mr. Fernandez was the only artist to have a solo exhibition, titled Luntian (Green), at the Art NOW Fine Art Fair 2020. The rest of the participating artists joined group exhibitions, with a total of 17 galleries in Saskatchewan participating in this year’s art fair.
Nineteen paintings by Mr. Fernandez are still displayed at The Woods Artspace, which represented him in the art fair, until 24 October 2020. The Woods Artspace gallery is located at 2347 McIntyre St., Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Mr. Fernandez moved to Regina, Saskatchewan, in 2017. He was born in Taal, Batangas, but also lived in Montalban, Rizal, and in Lingayen, Pangasinan.
Mr. Fernandez’s paintings belong to the pop surrealism genre.
