According to the Philippine Department of Transportation (DOTr), clearing and construction works started along the Philippine National Railway (PNR) railtracks led by Tokyo-based consortium 'Oriental Consultants Global'.
The administration of president Rodrigo Duterte signed recently an agreement with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to rehabilitate the state-owned train system PNR worth three billion dollars. Jiji Press
