Sanja Matsuri festival in Tokyo

Tokyo- Participants of annual Sanja Matsuri festival carried a portable shrine or "Mikoshi" outside Sensoji Temple in the Asakusa district last Sunday.
Some of the participants showed their traditional Japanese tattoos called "Irezumi", which is related to the Yakuza.
Sanja Matsuri festival is a celebration for the three founders of Sensoji Temple in the Asakusa neighbourhood with nearly two million people visiting during the three-day event. AFP PHOTO / Behrouz MEHRI- Jiji Press
