Swarovski-Adorned Baby Stroller Rolled Out in Japan
September 21, 2018
Tokyo- Japanese baby goods maker Combi Corp. on Thursday released online an expensive baby stroller adorned with 7,518 crystals from Austria's Swarovski.
The Swarovski crystals are decorated on the canopy and the wheels of the stroller, which is the most expensive item the firm has sold so far, with a price tag of 1.08 million yen.
Combi said the product was created to commemorate the company's 60th anniversary. It was launched as part of the firm's Sugocal stroller line, which is popular for its lightness.
Combi said that craftspeople sew the canopy and padded seats by hand, as well as stick each crystal onto the stroller manually.
The company used organic cotton, which is gentle on the skin, for parts that come into contact with the baby's skin, such as the seats and the harness covers.
The stroller will be delivered to customers within four to five weeks after orders.
Combi aims to sell the special stroller at department stores as well for a limited time. Jiji Press
