Voluntary Radiation Test of Seafood in Iwaki

Fukushima Prefecture officials told on 21 January 2020 it has made various efforts to ensure food safety after the nuclear accident at Tokyo Electric Power Company's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Okuma, Fukushima Prefecture following the magnitude 9.0 Great East Japan Earthquake killing about 16,000 people and missing about 2500. Fukushima has carried out radiation monitoring tests of all agricultural, forestry and marine products manufactured for sale in Fukushima prefecture since the nuclear accident. Prefectural authority said over 99 per cent of seafood are not detected radiation since 2018. EPA-Jiji Press
