10 police personnel positive for COVID-19: PNP

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday said three more personnel tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total to 10.
“The three more confirmed cases were a 55-year-old male, a 45 -year-old, male, both from Metro Manila and a 42-year-old, male from Northern Luzon,” Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac, PNP spokesperson, said in a statement.
The PNP Health Service now has a total of 152 PNP personnel considered as Persons Under Investigation (PUI), where 20 were police commissioned office, 126 police non-commissioned officer and six non-uniform personnel.Among Persons Under Monitoring, there are 1,422 PNP personnel of which 289 were PCO ( police commissioned officers), 1,075 PNCO ( police non-commissioned officers) and 58 NUP ( non-uniformed personnel).
The Kiangan Billeting Center in Camp Crame is open to all PNP personnel who are on self-quarantine while NCRPO (National Capital Region Police Office) has three buildings designated as Special Care Facilities or Quarantine Areas inside Camp Bagong Diwa, Banac said.
“Manila Police District (MPD) and Northern Police District (NPD) in coordination with their respective LGUs have their own quarantine areas and facilities,” he added.
Banac said other Police Regional Police Offices will set up their own quarantine areas and facilities for their
personnel who also undergo self-quarantine due to pandemic. Ella Dionisio/DMS
