The Philippine Coast Guard has launched search and rescue operation for 14 missing fishermen on board a fishing boat that capsized off Pangasinan.
PCG spokesman Commodore Armand Balilo said the coast guard received the report about the incident from two crew members of the sunken Aqua Princess.
Quoting the two fishermen, Balilo said Aqua Princess capsized at midnight of October 7.
The two said their boat captain ordered them to set sail using their service boat to call for help.
They arrived at Cato, Infanta, Pangasinan on Sunday morning to report the incident.
“Personnel of PCG District Northern Luzon with personnel from PNP (Philippine National Police) and LGU (Local Government Unit) rescue team of Infanta, Pangasinan were deployed to locate the missing fishermen,” Balilo said. Ella Dionisio/DMS
