15,000 cops to be deployed for the SEA Games: PNP

Around 15,000 cops are set to deployed for the 2019 Southeast Asia (SEA) Games, according to the Philippine National Police ( PNP).
In a press briefing, Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac said Central Luzon regional police will ready 5,000 personnel to different venues and the National Capital Region Police Office will prepare 10,000 cops for augmentation.
The New Clark City Sports Hub in Pampanga will be the main venue of the SEA Games, which will start on November 30.
“So in total, there will be 15,000 police that will be deploy to provide security (for SEA Games),” said Banac.
Banac said they have not received any threat for the coming games but they will remain alert.
“We will remain alert and vigilant on any incident that may transpire it may cause embarrassment on the security that will implement during the games,” he said.
“It is very important that we will maintain peace and order in all the venues and for all the people as it will also reflects the peace and order in our country,” he added. Ella Dionisio/DMS
