September 22, 2017
Two police officers were arrested by Philippine National Police Counter-Intelligence Task Force (CITF) unit for allegedly extorting money from a man they accused of rape.
An initial report said P01 Leomer Suarez and PO1 Allan Madrigal were arrested in an entrapment operation around 9pm at Jolibee Pasay for robbery and extortion.
Suarez was just reinstated and assigned to National Capital Region Police Office while Madrigal is on the process of reinstatement after being AWOL or absent without leave.
According to the complainant, he was threatened to be charged with rape by the police officers if he will not give them P200,000.
The complainant said he was accused by their lady boardmate in Pasay of molesting her during a drinking session last August 18. The lady is a cousin of Suarez.
The complainant pleaded he cannot afford to give the amount they're asking. It was reduced to P50,000. Officers forced him to write a promissory note that he will pay P10,000 per month, the report said.
The arrested PNP personnel, along with their lady accuser, are at the CITF office for proper disposition and filing of appropriate cases. Ella Dionisio/DMS
