2 dead, 5 injured after ex-Army man goes on shooting spree in Cavite

A former member of the Philippine Army shot himself dead after going on a shooting spree in Cavite Sunday morning which also resulted in the death of one person and injuring of five others, including two cops.
General Trias City Police Station said the suspect was Junny Palacio who ran amuck at Purok 6, Sitio Carapiohan, Barangay Santiago in General Trias City, Cavite around 8:10 am.
Initial investigation said Palacio went to the public market looking for persons allegedly responsible in maligning his reputation as a contractor.
The suspect first shot a woman identified as Murharma Bautista, 59, who died on the spot due to multiple gunshot wounds.
Three others were also shot and immediately rushed to the hospital.
Palacio also reportedly fired at the responding policemen resulting in the injury of two police officers.
Authorities said they asked the suspect to surrender after he was cornered but he chose to shot himself in the forehead.
