2 Japanese lost P40m, 30.1m yen from robbers in Quezon City

Two Japanese nationals lost a huge amount of money from three robbers in Quezon City, police said on Friday.
The two male foreigners, 49 and 53 years old, rode a vehicle from Malate, Manila going to Quezon City on May 23.
But upon arrival at Laura St. corner Commonwealth Ave. in Quezon City, the driver stopped the vehicle when two other suspects, one of them introducing himself as a policeman, flagged them down around 10:25 pm.
The victims were asked to go out of the car when they reached Beatriz St corner Commonwealth. The suspects robbed them while one of robbers fired a warning shot.
According to the police, one Japanese lost to the suspects 30 million yen and P40 million in cash placed inside a backpack and two cellular phones, while the other victim lost 100,000 yen. Celerina Monte/DMS
