2 killed in new Isulan blast, PNP relieves Sultan Kudarat provincial director and police chief

Two were killed as an explosion rocked a public computer shop in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat on Sunday which led the Philippine National Police ( PNP) to relieve the provincial director and the town police chiefs. This was the second blast to hit Isulan town in less than a week. Last Wednesday, one person was killed and sveral injured when someone planted a homemade bomb on the motorcycle of a miitiaman. Dead from Sunday's blast were John mark and Marialyn Lupa while 12 were injured, four of them in serious condition. In a statement, Senior Superintendent Benigno Durana Jr., the PNP spokesman, said on the orders PNP Director General Oscar Albayalde, he ordered Chief Superintendent Eliseo Rasco, the regional director, to relieve Senior Superintendent Noel Kinazo said Sultan Kudarat provincial director, and Superintendent Celestino Daniel Jr as Isulan town police chief. This will pave the way for a "thorough and impartial investigation into Sunday's investigation and another similar incident earlier," said Durana. Durana said the PNP condemns the latest incident and has mobilized "all available security forces in pursuit operations against the persons responsible for the latest act of terrorism." DMS
