2 suspected NPAs nabbed in Laguna, Quezon City

Two alleged ranking members of the New People’s Army (NPA) were arrested in Laguna and Quezon City last Saturday.

Initial police report said Laguna Police Provincial Office served a warrant of arrest against Joenel Lazo, alias Joenel Gallardo and Ka Sendo, at Barangay Sto. Tomas, Biñan City, Laguna around 5:10 pm .

Police said Lazo was listed as Most Wanted Person CPP/NPA Terrorist of Cagayan Valley Region 2 and accused for the crime of 10 counts of murder; 10 counts of attempted murder; rebellion; arson; iIllegal possession of explosives and ammunition; and grave coercion.

Meanwhile, around 6:20 pm, a certain Romeo Aytona Jr., alias Alon, was arrested by the operatives of the National Capital Region Police Office-Regional Intelligence Division (NCRPO-RID) in a police operation along EDSA corner Kamias Road in Quezon City.

Operatives served warrant of arrest against Aytona for three separate criminal cases of arson, murder and violation of Human Security Act.

Based on police records, Aytona was identified as the squad leader of West Committee, Danilo Command Northern Front operating in Cagayan.
