2,498 new COVID-19 cases raises total to 61, 266

Nearly 2,500 new coronavirus disease ( COVID-19) cases were reported by the Department of Health ( DOH) Thursday.
With 2,498 cases, total cases reached 61,266. Active cases are at 38, 183.
The DOH said 90.7 percent out of the active cases were mild, with asymptomatic cases at 8.5 percent, severe cases at 0.4 percent and critical at 0.5 percent.
The National Capital Region accounted for 1,886 out of the new cases, way ahead of Cebu with 198, Cavite with 57, Davao del Sur and Laguna 44. the DOH said,
Twenty nine persons died, raising the tally to 1,643 while 467 survived COVID-19, placing the total to 21,440. DMS
