276 new cases raise COVID-19 new cases to 8,488

Two hundred and seventy-six new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were reported Thursday by the Department of Health (DOH), bringing the tally to 8,488.
Ten new fatalities were recorded raising total deaths to 568. Twenty patients recovered, placing the tally to 1,043 patients.
Among COVID-19 patients, 19 percent of 1,619 are found to be healthcare workers.
Out of the total, 604 are nurses, 557 are doctors, 99 are nursing assistants, 63 are medical technologists, 31 are radiologic technologists, 18 are midwives, 17 are respiratory therapists, and 13 pharmacists.
Thirty-three healthcare workers died, including 24 doctors and 7 nurses.
Also among COVID-19-hit healthcare workers, a total of 250 have recovered. DMS
