ZAMBOANGA CITY - Authorities arrested three Hong Kong nationals in an island town in the province of Basilan, a police official said Thursday.
Senior Supt. Rufino Inot, Basilan police director, said arrested were Tsz Kin Tsui 40, Wang Po, 33, and Chun Wai Ho, 32.
Inot said they were arrested by policemen around 6 p.m. Wednesday in Barangay Dasalan, Hadji Muhtamad.
Inot said they were arrested after barangay officials of Dasalan reported their presence to policemen.
He said seeing three Hong Kong nationals in Barangay Dasalan is highly questionable.
Inot said they claimed to have traveled aboard a double-engine speed boat from Hong Kong to Indonesia and then to Hadji Muhtamad “to gas up there in going back to Hong Kong.”
He said they claimed to have traveled to Thailand in February “Their travel is doubtful,” Inot added citing “they claimed to be travelers.”
Inot said the three Hong Kong nationals were turned over to the Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) while the speed boat was impounded at Basilan Provincial Police Office. DMS
