December 8, 2018
Three security guards of a private village were injured in an explosion in Caloocan City early Friday morning.
The explosion took place as they were trying to hide from their service vehicle when the residents of Pangarap village tried to attack them for allegedly not doing anything when a fire started to raze a house of one of the residents at around 2am.
"Residents at the concerned area scrambled to extinguish the flames to prevent it from spreading but it nevertheless flattened the structure," Northern Police District said.
Investigation disclosed that a house owner noticed three male persons wearing bonnet, clad in color blue guard uniform and were armed.
"At that instant, one of the male persons who was armed with a shot gun and who took cover behind a coconut tree suddenly fired downwards, then the explosion occurred," NPD report said.
The unidentified suspects fled towards the direction of nearby Ciudad Real Subdivision, San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan after the incident.
Authorities were trying to find out if the suspects were also the one who burned the house and the possible motive for the crime. Ella Dionisio/DMS
