49% of Filipinos expect quality of life to improve: SWS survey

Close to 50 percent of Filipinos expect their personal quality of life to improve in the next 12 months, Social Weather Stations said in a survey conducted in December and released on Tuesday
The tally of 49 percent, minus three percent of those expecting things to worsen, resulted in a record-high personal optimism score of 46 percent.
This is four percentage points higher than the 42 percent achieved in the last survey in September, SWS said.
The survey, done Dec 8-16, covered 1,200 adults nationwide.
Fifty-two percent of respondents are optimistic that the Philippine economy in 2018 would get better, with nine percent feeling it would deteriorate for a net optimism score of 42 percent, SWS said.
This is 12 percentage points above an excellent score of 30 percent since December 2015.
On change in quality of life compared to 12 months ago, the SWS December survey said their lives improved and 18 percent said it worsened fir a record high net gainer score of 23 percent.
This is four percentage points higher than the previous mark of 19 percent in September 2017. DMS
