5 die as bunk house in construction site collapses in Cebu

Five people died while 11 were injured after a bunk house in a construction site collapsed early Tuesday.
Supt. Reyman Tolentin, Central Visayas region spokesman, said based on initial report the bunk house made of scaffolding located at the Abraham Lee construction site in Brgy Luz, Cebu City collapsed around 3:35 am.
He said the victims were sleeping inside the bunk house that serves as barracks when the incident happened.
Tolentin said five died on the spot while 11 were rushed to different hospitals.
He said there were 153 personnel who were temporarily staying at the bunkhouse.
Romina Marasigan, National Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) spokesperson said they received reports four victims were seriously injured.
She said the five who died on the spot were brought to Cebu City Medical Center for proper disposition. Robina Asido/DMS
