5 hurt as van falls into 100-meter ravine in Mountain Province

LA TRINIDAD --- Five passengers, including the driver of a white Hyundai van, were injured after the vehicle fell into a 100-meter ravine in Sitio Tiguing, barangay Losad, Sabangan, Mt. Province Monday night.
Chief Inspector Carolina Lacuata, spokesperson of the Cordillera police, said the van was climbing towards Bauko, Mt. Province when driver Roberto Dampalig Dagibus, 39, dozed off.
Jake Mangadno Rubang, 23, and Mark Gallap Panta, also 23, managed to climb from the ravine and sought help from drivers at an automobile shop.
Rescuers recovered Dagibus and passengers Josie Bayangdo Mangawili, 36, and Jade Tugaak, 18. All five were brought to the Luis Hora Memorial Regional Hospital in Banao, Bauko for their injuries including suspected partial fractures. Police found out later the five were drunk. DMS
