58 deaths from COVID-19, highest since Dec. 30
January 5, 2021
Fifty eight persons died from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Department of Health (DOH) said Tuesday.
This is the highest since Dec 30 when 68 deaths were announced.
There were 937 new COVID-19 cases reported, bringing the total to 479,693. ''The relatively lower number of cases reported today is still due to the decrease in the number of patients seen in COVID-19 laboratories over the holidays,'' the DOH said.
Davao City topped areas with the most number of new cases with 85 followed by Manila, 54. Agusan del Sur followed with 49, Pampanga 48 and Misamis Occidental, 43.
One hundred and fourteen persons got well from COVID-19, raising total recoveries to 448, 375. DMS
