6.3 magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

A magnitude 6.3 earthquake was recorded in Davao Occidental on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the epicenter of the quake was recorded at 159 km southeast of Sarangani, Davao Occidental around 3:18 pm.
The tremor, tectonic in origin, has a depth of 73 km.
There were no damage reported while aftershocks are expected, Phivolcs said.
Earlier at around 11:41 am, a magnitude 5.5 earthquake was also recorded at 268 km southeast of Sarangani.
