80% of COVID-19 cases from NCR: Duque
April 7, 2020
Four in every five COVID-19 cases came from the National Capital Region, the Department of Health (DOH) said Tuesday.
In a press briefing, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said "more or less, about 80 percent of all our cases of COVID-19 were reported in Metro Manila."
Duque said there are fewer cases in the Visayas and Mindanao as they are mostly from local transmission.
"Outside Luzon, the region with most cases is Davao with 79, while Central Visayas has 39 cases," said Duque.
In its latest COVID-19 report, the DOH said there were 3,764 cases from 104 new cases. There are 177 deaths from 14 new fatalities and 84 recoveries from 11 patients who were discharged from hospitals. DMS
