There were 972 police officers among 1,076 cops relieved in Caloocan City following anti-drug operations that resulted in death of a teenager in September who passed a retraining program.
But at least 100 police officers flunked the two-month training program
Records from the PNP Training Service on Monday revealed 102 cops failed the two-month training program which began on October 2.
Twenty-nine got a rating of 70 to 74 percent and were recommended to be sent to other assignments outside Caloocan. Forty-one got grades from 51 to 69 percent and 32 received a grades below 50 percent.
Two police officers went absent without leave are undergoing pre-charge investigation.
The 972 police officers who received a passing grade of 75 percent and above were given recognition in a closing ceremony at Camp Crame, with the PNP Training Service recommending they be returned to Caloocan,
But National Capitol Region Police Director Oscar Albayalde said a committee has been formed to "conduct validation and evaluation of all the graduates."
“Those who failed will undergo retraining,” said Albayalde. He said 49 policemen will also be investigated for skipping a drug test. DMS
