Abra councilor shot dead inside his residence

A councilor in Abra province was shot dead by an unidentified gunman right inside his own compound Wednesday night, police said.

Abra police said Sangunniang Bayan member Isagani Ambaoa Joson was shot at around 7:45 pm  Wednesday at sitio Manaois, barangay Poblacion, Lagayan town.

Joson, said alone when the shooting occurred, was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital in Bangued  but expired on the way.

Investigators found out Joson had a gunshot wound at the right portion of his back and the bullet exited on his right chest.

Crime scene investigators found Joson’s 45 caliber pistol on his hand, seven fired cartridges from the caliber 45, two fired slugs of still unknown caliber and a deformed metal fragment of a rifle bullet. DMS
