Abu Sayyaf releases Sulu school teacher : source

ZAMBOANGA CITY - The Abu Sayyaf have released late Thursday the public school head teacher they seized hours earlier in exchange for “token for cigarette.”
The Abu Sayyaf freed Marjorie Abdul around 11 p.m. in the western part of Patikul, Sulu, a source close to the victim’s family disclosed.
Abdul, 58, head teacher of an elementary school in Barangay Liang, Patikul, was seized by five Abu Sayyaf bandits around 9:30 a.m. Thursday while she was at the school premises.
The bandits kept her captive for more than 12 hours.
The informant said Abdul has reunited with her family. It was not known when she will resume work.
Another teacher, Doris Hamsirani, remained in the hands of the Abu Sayyaf , who demanded P2 million ransom in exchange for her release. Hamsirani, 46, was seized on March 8 from the Matatal Elementary School in Maimbung.
The Abu Sayyaf bandits are still holding 11 people comprising of three Indonesians, one Dutch, one Vietnamese and five Filipinos. DMS
