Abu Sayyaf seize town councilor in Sulu

ZAMBOANGA CITY - The Abu Sayyaf abducted a town councilor in Sulu province, a top military official said Thursday.
Brig. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, Joint Task Force Sulu commander, said the victim is Ezzedin Suod Tan was abducted around 6 p.m. Wednesday at the boundary of Barangays Timbangan and Tagbak in Indanan town.
Sobejana said Tan was with a group of 12 bikers belonging to the Tausog Bikers Club travelling between Timbangan and Tagbak when taken by six Abu Sayyaf gunmen aboard a vehicle.
"They were on their way back to Jolo after making a turn at the town of Maimbung,” he said.
He said a Crisis Management Committee (CMC) has been activated to recover Tan "the soonest possible time.”
“Search and rescue operations are ongoing and we look forward for the victim’s safe rescue,” he added. DMS
