The number of active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases among the frontline personnel of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has reached 237.
In its latest report Wednesday, the PCG has recorded a total of 1,318 frontline personnel who are declared positive for COVID-19 from August 23 to 31.
Of the total number of cases, 1,081 have recovered.
The PCG also noted that one of their personnel under monitoring in a COVID-19 referral hospital continues to show signs of recovery.
"The health condition of PCG frontline personnel are regularly monitored through various efforts such as swab testing amid the COVID-19 pandemic," it stated.
It can be recalled that last August 17, the number of active cases among PCG frontline personnel decreased to 151, with 859 recorded cases and 708 recoveries.
Despite the growing number of active cases, PCG Commandant Admiral George Ursabia Jr thanked everyone who prayed for the speedy recovery of PCG frontline personnel who were infected by COVID-19 in the performance of their duties and responsibilities. Robina Asido/DMS
