AFP expects more accomplishments vs NPAs in future encounters
November 30, 2017
After the recent encounter in Nasugbu, Batangas where 14 alleged members of the New People's Army were killed, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is expecting similar accomplishments in the future.
“We are expecting that with our intensified operation, we will still have the same accomplishment in the future because we will not stop that. We have already started to campaign against the terrorist group New People’s Army (NPA) especially that the combat operation in Marawi is over,” Col. Edgard Arevalo, AFP Public Affairs Chief said Thursday.
“We can now refocus and redeploy our soldiers, following the order of our commander in chief,” he added.
Arevalo said this accomplishment against the rebels shows the government’s desire to end the five-decade old insurgency in the country.
“The recent operations of the AFP should send the strong signal that our government is motivated to end this problem that continues to give headache not only to our country, economy but also to our people in rural areas who are longing for a peaceful life,” Arevalo said.
