AFP says communists plot vs Duterte admin still on
October 15, 2018
Even if the so-called Red October is over, a communist destabilization plot against the Duterte government is still proceeding, a military spokesman said Monday.
Brig. Gen. Edgard Arevalo, spokesman of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, said the communist leadership is planning to unleash this in time of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP)’s golden anniversary on Dec. 26.
“We described this destabilizatoin plot as rolling as communist leadership intends to sustain their anti-government moves this October, November and until their December founding anniversary celebration,” Arevalo.
Arevalo said the arrest of four suspected New People's Army (NPA) members identified as Yolanda Diamsay, Eulalia Pangkaliwangan Ladesma, Rachel Acana Galario and Elaine Ezdel Amocling show the military’s sustained anti-insurgency campaign across the country.
Army and police cornered the four at Sitio 32, Barangay Agbannawag, Rizal, Nueva Ecija Saturday afternoon. DMS
