Albayalde inspects Mimaropa’s readiness for May 13 polls

Philippine National Police ( PNP) General Oscar Albayalde on Friday visited Mimaropa (Mindoro- Marinduque- Romblon- Palawan) to assess the regional police's deployment and law enforcement operations against election security threats.
“This is the very reason why we are visiting PRO 4B because we know that there are presence of NPAs (New People’s Army), communist terrorist groups,” Albayalde said.
“We will also check their preparation on what is their status now and if there is a need for augmentation, we will augment them,” he added.
In a statement, PNP spokesperson Colonel Bernard Banac said Albayalde's visit part of his trip to every region to see their readiness for the May 13 elections and to cope with natural disasters.
“This morning, PNP chief, Police General Oscar Albayalde has travelled to Calapan, Oriental Mindoro to conduct a command conference at Police Regional Office 4B to assess its deployment and law enforcement operations against election security threats such as the communist terrorist group, private armed groups and criminal syndicates,” said Banac.
“The visit will also include inspection of troops to boost their morale, as part of ongoing security preparations in the runup to the May 13 polls. Likewise, Police General Albayalde will inspect PRO4B’s operational readiness to respond to earthquakes and other natural disasters or emergencies,” he added. Ella Dionisio/DMS
