Albayalde plays down deaths in Bulacan anti-drug operations

Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Oscar Albayalde sees nothing unusual in the latest series of killings of drug suspects in police operations in Bulacan province.
A total of 13 suspected drug dealers were killed since Wednesday in simultaneous law enforcement operations while 84 other criminals were arrested in Bulacan.
“First of all,they were not killed in one place,” he said in a television interview over GMA News State of the Nation on Thursday.
Albayalde said it just happened police stations in Bulacan launched simultaneous operations in two days.
“Bulacan is very big. I think it has a population of more than a million,” he said. “I think we should be concerned if four people were killed in in just one area or barangay."
On Thursday, six were killed in police operations in Malolos City, and towns of Bocaue, Pulilan and Sta. Maria.
Eght died after they allegedly fought back against arresting police in Sta Maria, Pulilan, Obando, Balagtas and Pandi towns. DMS
