Albayalde to face cops who criticized him on Facebook
May 3, 2018
Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Oscar Albayalde said policemen who criticized him on the Facebook page Buhay Lespu were summoned to face him on Monday.
“We have already identified these policemen and already gave a directive that they report to me on Monday,” Albayalde said on Wednesday over UNTV.
Albayalde did not disclose who and how many police officers will appear before him. They are said to be using Facebook accounts of their relatives in criticizing him
The police officers will be slapped with administrative charges and could face dismissal from the service for insubordination, he said.
“We don't want people with these kinds of attitude in our ranks,” said Albayalde
Abayalde, when he was chief of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), has been accused in Facebook of berating officers who are not doing their jobs before media.
He conducted surprise inspections of police stations in the evening where he caught several cops sleeping or drinking while on duty.
“If you can't follow rules, you are always free to go but it's not right that you stab your commander in the back,” he said.
Albayalde said policemen with complaints can approach their immediate superiors and grievance committees. “They can always express themselves but it must be in a proper manner,” he said. DMS
