Albyalde says Cascolan new NCRPO chief

Philippine National Police (PNP) Director for Operations Camilo Pancratius Cascolan will replace incoming PNP Director General Oscar Albayalde as head of the National Capitol Region Police Office (NCRPO). This was announced by Albayalde, currently NCRPO director, in a TV interview late Wednesday, as he mentioned some officers who will be transferred. Cascolan, who belongs to same Philippine Military Academy class of 1986 like outgoing PNP Director Ronald dela Rosa, used to be assigned in Davao. He was former provincial police commander of Compostela Valley. He is qualified. He is performance is OK," said Albayalde. He said the reshuffling was decided by an oversight committee. Albayalde denied there was lobbying. "We talk among ourselves," he said. "We decided he ( Cascolan) is fit for the job." Albayalde will assume the top PNP post Thursday afternoon, replacing Dela Rosa, who will be the next head of the Bureau of Corrections. Albayalde said Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar, Quezon City police director, will become the regional director for Calabarzon, replacing the current head Chief Superintendent Mao Aplasca. Aplasca will replace Cascolan as director for operations.Chief Superintendent Joselito Esquivel, executive officer of the PNP Directorate for Intelligence, will replace Eleazar as QC police director. He denied talks that persons close to President Rodrigo Duterte wanted Eleazar as NCRPO director. "No not even the president. I reported to him (Duterte) two days ago and he said he will not interfere in the positioning of officers," he said. DMS
